NEW HOLLAND
New Holland Construction is one of the major manufacturers of construction equipment, with a network of distributors, factories and research and development centres around the world.
Abe Zimmermann opened a machine repair shop in New Holland, Pennsylvania (USA) in 1895. This is where the name of our company comes from.
In 1947, the company was acquired by Sperry Rand Corporation and renamed Sperry New Holland. In 1991 New Holland was sold to Fiat together with the Fordson-based tractor production. The acquisition agreement allowed Fiat to sell tractors under the Ford brand until 2000. In the following years the company grew through further acquisitions (in 1998 the Polish combine harvester manufacturer Bizon and the German construction machinery manufacturer Orenstein & Koppel, and in 1999 the Case Corporation). The agricultural and construction machinery group Case New Holland was created, almost 90% of which belongs to the Fiat Industrial group.
